Bringing main street to life

Preserving our history, supporting small businesses, and building a vibrant downtown for generations to come.

Welcome to Amory Main Street!

Join Your Community!

Amory, Mississippi is a proud railroad town with a heart as strong as its history. Founded in the early 1900s as a stop along the Frisco line, our city grew around Main Street — a place for gathering, trading, and celebrating.

On any given day today, you’ll find neighbors catching up downtown, shopkeepers greeting customers by name, and the smell of good food drifting from locally owned restaurants. Our downtown is more than a place — it’s the heartbeat of our hometown.

Come stroll through our historic district, shop our unique retailers, and stop in for a bite or a cup of coffee at one of our welcoming eateries. You’ll feel the spirit of community with every step.

Each month brings something new to experience — from family-friendly festivals and live music, to downtown shopping nights and seasonal celebrations. There’s always something happening on Amory Main Street, and we can’t wait for you to be part of it!

Fall is full of chili, costumes, and community fun- and winter brings parades, shopping nights, and polar express magic. There is always a reason to head to Amory Main Street!

Asphalt Art Refresh

March 28th & 29th

On March 28 and 29, the Asphalt Art in Vinegar Bend will be refreshed with a new color palette while preserving the bold design introduced in 2024. What began as a creative placemaking project quickly became a vibrant feature of downtown Amory.

This refresh ensures the artwork remains bright, welcoming, and reflective of the energy and pride of our community.

Line of Duty Memorial

May 7, 2026

The Line of Duty Memorial Vigil is a solemn evening of remembrance honoring law enforcement officers from Northeast Mississippi who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Held during National Law Enforcement Memorial Week, the vigil brings together families, fellow officers, and community members to reflect, remember, and honor their service and sacrifice.

Our Main Street Priorities

Amory Main Street is more than events — it’s about building a thriving, resilient downtown that reflects the pride and spirit of our community. Our work is guided by four key priorities:

Events That Unite

Downtown is where Amory comes together. From Chilifest and the Christmas Parade to shopping nights and concerts, our events bring neighbors and visitors together — and drive energy to local businesses.

Supporting Local Businesses

A strong Main Street depends on strong businesses. We help shops and restaurants thrive through promotion, partnerships, and opportunities that bring customers to their doors.

Historic Preservation

Amory was built on its railroad heritage, and preserving that history is central to our mission. From restoring storefronts to protecting landmarks like the Frisco 1529, we safeguard Amory’s story for future generations.

Downtown Projects

We invest in spaces that bring people together — pocket parks, public art, façade improvements, and revitalization efforts that make downtown inviting and family-friendly.

Projects & Initiatives

We’re investing in Amory’s future through projects that strengthen downtown, celebrate our heritage, and bring people together.

Asphalt Art

Transforming crosswalks and public spaces with colorful art that makes downtown safer, more walk-able, and more welcoming.

Owen Bark Park

A new dog park with a walking track, play structures, benches, and water stations — designed for pets and people alike.

Façade Improvements

Helping property owners restore and enhance historic storefronts, preserving Amory’s charm while encouraging new investment.

Volunteer Ambassadors

Engaging high school and college students in leadership, event support, and service — while providing scholarship opportunities.

Nativity Scene

Restoring Amory’s beloved holiday tradition with updated displays and lighting, keeping Christmas magic alive downtown.

Veterans Signs

Honoring those who served by installing banners and signage along Main Street that celebrate local veterans.
